LeSean McCoy is being investigated by the NFL and the Buffalo Bills for domestic violence allegations made by an unidentified woman on Instagram. The picture shows McCoy’s former girlfriend badly beaten and bruised. McCoy has vehemently denied the allegations.
The Instagram post
The Instagram post accused McCoy of various things including beating his dog, beating his son, and using “illegal steroids.” The post also showed an image of McCoy’s ex-girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, bloody and bruised, and accessed McCoy of being responsible.
“@shadymccoy is THE DEVIL!!! YOU ARE AN ANIMAL!!!!!! We didn’t say anything about how you beat your dog “Henny” into kidney failure. Let’s not talk about all the times my best friend had to stop you from VICIOUSLY beating your son for small things like peeing in the bed. We kept quiet about your drug usage,” the post said; it continued on to say even more. It was later identified that Delicia’s friend, Mia, made the post which was later deleted.
Milton police released their own statement about the incident. Officials said that at around 3:18 A.M they responded to a home invasion where they found one victim who had been physically assaulted by a lone intruder.
McCoy’s response
LeSean adamantly denied the allegations with his own social media post.
“For the record, the totally baseless and offensive claims made against me are completely false. Furthermore, I have not had any direct contact with any of the people involved in months,” McCoy wrote on Instagram.
This is not the first-time McCoy has been accused of assault. In 2013 McCoy was sued by a woman who claimed he assaulted her before kicking her off a party bus. At the time McCoy was playing for the Philadelphia Eagles. In 2016, he was investigated for involvement in an altercation at a Philadelphia nightclub. However, prosecutors did not press charges.
Both the Bills and the NFL responded to the latest allegations with separate statements. The Bills said in a statement, “We have spoken to LeSean and been in contact with the National Football League. We will continue to gather information.”
McCoy is entering his tenth year in the league and his fourth with the Bills.
