CBS announced on Tuesday, November 14th that rapper and actress Eve has joined The Talk as the Emmy-winning show’s new co-host. “We are thrilled to welcome Eve to the table as she brings a fun and fresh perspective to our already diverse panel,” CBS Entertainment Executive Vice President of Daytime Programs Angelica McDaniel said in a statement according to Us Magazine. “The great success of The Talk is due to the undeniable chemistry and bond of friendship between the hosts.  Eve is an accomplished and dynamic performer, musician, wife and stepmother who fits in seamlessly, while also adding a new layer to the show as we continue to evolve season to season.”

Furthermore, as an actress, Eve is known for her roles as Terri Jones in the films Barbershop, Barbershop 2: Back in Business and Barbershop: The Next Cut, as well as Shelley Williams on the UPN television sitcom Eve. She is the winner of the Grammy Award for Best Rap/Song Collaboration in 2002, for the song “Let Me Blow Ya Mind”, with singer Gwen Stefani.

Eve has done a wide range of diverse things in her career over the years. The Philadelphia native is excited to join the cast and to be able to contribute to such an amazing show. “The Talk is an important show to have now because of its distinct female point of view on current issues, said Eve.”

Since former host Aisha Tyler’s exit, “The Talk” has featured many guest co-hosts during its current eighth season. Insiders say, “hundreds of names” were considered before Eve landed the full-time gig. Eve was a standout and proved she was the right fit when she co-hosted for a week, impressing viewers, the network, and the cast.

Eve previously served as a guest co-host the week of Oct. 30 and posted photos from the show on Instagram, saying it was a fun week. Eve made her debut as a full-time host the same day that CBS made the announcement and ever since then fans have been anticipating the unique contribution she will bring to the show.
