Popstar Justin Bieber and model Hailey Baldwin got engaged over the weekend, a source close the couple confirmed. The couple had dated back in 2016 but broke up. In recent weeks they had appeared together and sparked speculation that they had gotten back together.

Signs that the couple was back together were all over social media over the weekend. Videos of the young couple dancing in the Bahamas popped up across the internet. Reports say that Bieber purposed to Baldwin during the trip.
Justin’s father, Jeremy Bieber, posted a photo on Instagram and said in the caption, “@justinbieber Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!”
Justin’s mother, Pattie Mallette, sent out her own tweet saying simply, “Love Love Love Love Love Love.”
It was Hailey’s father, Stephen Baldwin, that sent perhaps the clearest and longest message. Baldwin sent out a tweet thanking Jesus and included “JB&HB” in his tweet. He also tagged Justin and Mallette in the tweet. The tweet was quickly taken down.

Justin’s love life has always been in the spotlight and tabloids. For years, he dated singer Selena Gomez on and off. Fans were thrilled when the two got back together last year, but they once again split up. In recent months, Hailey Baldwin had been linked to singer Shawn Mendes.
Back in 2016 when the two first dated, Bieber mentioned Hailey potentially being the one but didn’t want to rush her.
“What if Hailey ends up being the girl I’m gonna marry, right? If I rush into anything, if I damage her, then it’s always gonna be damaged. It’s really hard to fix wounds like that. It’s so hard … I just don’t want to hurt her,” Justin told GQ magazine back in February 2016.
Hailey admitted that the two went through an awkward and tense time after their 2016 breakup. Baldwin even admitted that the two didn’t take for “quite some time” and that “there was a lot of weirdness that went on.” The two attend the same church in Los Angeles.
Bieber and Hailey have only been back together for a month.
