Last week I wrote about the 12 natural laws of the universe; the fundamental principles of how energy is at work around us all the time. Today, however, I want to focus on the law of attraction and why it may not be working for you.
I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase ‘like attracts like’; this is the principle behind this law. It’s been sensationalized by many self-help authors such as Rhonda Byrne’s “The Secret”, and there appears to be a false belief that positive thinking and visualization will magically zap your desires into existence. Here lies the confusion; these techniques serve to intensify the frequency of our vibration. By doing this, we can create a dominant vibration which sets up a resonance with other similar vibrations, bringing the law of vibration into play. The energetic vibrations we’re transmitting sets the stage for the law of attraction to bring more of the same. However, these two laws alone are still not enough because, in order for us to manifest things here on earth, we must take actions which support our thoughts and desires; and here lies the challenge of manifesting for the majority of us. Applying the law of action highlights our beliefs around what we desire.
Our fear, doubts, and insecurities also have a vibration and because they’re ingrained in our belief system and often operate on a subconscious level. Until both the conscious and the subconscious are in sync with each other, we’ll be transmitting two conflicting sets of vibrations, causing a massive discrepancy between what we desire and what we actually attract. Our beliefs about ourselves and the world in which we live will determine what we manifest faster and with more precision than all the positive thinking and visualization, we can muster. Simply, if we don’t believe we’re worthy of what we desire, it will be extremely hard to manifest it.
