Facebook has come under scrutiny recently, as it’s been reported that accounts with “Russian connections” bought political related Ads meant to disrupt American politics and tip the favor to Donald Trump.

When did this Russian narrative all start?

It was reported in December by the FBI and the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center, that Russian interference was first learnt about by the Obama administration in June 2016.

Here is a quote from President Barack Obama on October 18, 2016 regarding rigging elections, when “accepting the results of the election” was a hot topic.

“There is no serious person out there who would suggest you could even rig American elections…There is no evidence that has happened in the past, or that there are instance that that could happen this time…So I’d advise Mr. Trump to stop whining.”

This begs the question, if the Obama administration knew about interference in June 2016, why did President Obama in October 2016 make the above statement asserting American elections can’t be rigged, and that there’s zero evidence of it occurring presently?

Back to Facebook ads, the current narrative being pushed for election swaying. It was reported by the Washington Post that $100K worth of political ads were created on 470 accounts that “likely operated out of Russia,”

These ads ran from 2015-2016 and it’s important to note that Facebook Chief Security Officer Alex Stamos, claims “the vast majority of ads run by these accounts didn’t specifically reference the US presidential election, voting, or a particular candidate.”

Per the Washington Post, “Other ads highlighted support for Democrat Hillary Clinton.”

Hillary Clinton spent a record $1,200,000,000.00 ($1.2 Billion) on her campaign. Are we supposed to believe the current narrative that $100K worth of Facebook ads, some of which were pro-Hillary ads, swayed the election?

So, was there any real election swaying with Facebook? Well, per the DKIM verified WikiLeaks Podesta emails, one reveals that Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg wanted Hillary Clinton to win “badly”, and provided research to her in March 2015 and met privately with her on multiple occasions. As President Obama said, perhaps we should all stop whining.
