I am on a fitness binge at the moment and am not sure how long the streak would last. As usual, I was paying more attention to what I ate. However, the realization struck that everyone seems to be paranoid about foods but rarely pay attention to what they drink. I decided to compile a list of drinks that are a part of a healthy lifestyle. So, here’s to drinking to good health.
Drink To Good Health
Let me be clear, by good health I don’t mean that these drinks will help you lose weight or tone up your body. For that exercise is a must. These dinks will help your metabolism, increase immunity and make you feel more energetic.
On top of the shack is obviously water. The recommended amount is 8 to 10 glasses a day. However, if you sweat a lot, you need to increase the intake accordingly. Water is the best because it prevents dehydration and constipation. At the same time, its calorie content is zero. So, what better can you ask for?
Green Tea / Coffee
Green tea and green coffee are both extremely rich in anti-oxidants. These anti-oxidants, in turn, boost your body’s immunity and also keep the internal body environment in harmony. The best part, they can be had hot or cold. And if you really worry about your waistline, you can have them unsweetened.
Pomegranate is a powerhouse of anti-oxidants. It is also rich in vitamin C and K. Not only that, it has anti-inflammatory properties and is hence beneficial to those suffering from joint pains and arthritis. It is also known to fight common cancers like breast cancer and prostate cancer.
Indian Gooseberry Juice
Indian gooseberry is a little-known fruit that is good for overall health. It’s beneficial for eyes, reduces stress, improves mental health, facilitates proper blood flow, prevents blockages, aids digestion, cures anemia, strengthens teeth and nails, reduces hair fall, controls diabetes etc.
Aloe Vera Juice
Aloe vera juice helps detoxify the body and hence keeps the liver healthy. It also helps keep the skin clear of acne and reduces skin ailments like psoriasis and dermatitis.
